I am LOVING Torchwood this series! I squeeled like a ridiculous fangirl when Martha returned. They've performed miracles with the character of Owen and geek!Owen was the sweetest. I've been reading some spoilers for the rest of the series and it sounds like it's going to carry on being brilliant. I'm loving Ianto even more this year.

I didn't see any of Life on Mars except for the final one but Darren wants the dvds for his birthday so I'll get to watch them then. I like to call the clown creepydavidbowieclown. It really freaks me out seen as I hate clowns. I love that Stephen Campbell Moore is in it. Again, I was fangirl squeeing when he was on it last week!

Good for you at the school. I loved working at the school I was at and if I'd had been supported more when I became ill I certainly would never have left. After working there for a year I was given a job at the newly opened nursery with a senior member of staff and I loved teaching the little ones songs about the alphabet and numbers. I think if you get in the right place and work with the right people it can be so rewarding. It was like that for me at the beginning but my boss left and our new one had only ever worked in private nurseries and she was just rubbish at her job. I know my old boss would've supported me and eased me back into work but the new one just didn't care. I miss the kids and the activities but I certainly don't miss the adults.
Alex it's wonderful to hear you so happy and enthused! I work as a TA, doing "casual" or "supply", so when the regular TA is sick or away in swoops me to save the day. ;) or rather I wander the halls trying to find the correct classroom. I enjoy it a lot really. I work with Learning/physically disabled kids mostly or children with autism in grades Kindergarten to 12. I meet some of the best kids! It's best when I can keep coming back to the same few schools.

I haven't done anything with my Blythes or been to the TIB in ages! I think I may actually sell the bulk of my collection soon. Although some will stay becuase I love them so.

I don't think we're getting Torchwood here yet,and I keep missing Life on Mars grrr.... so much TV so little time :P I'll have to keep my eyes open. I like seeing things from the beginning so often I have to wait till they repeat.

I love Disney too, I want to take my kids to Florida . We'll see

again glad to see you back and happy!
LoM - check, the best thing EVER. I really don't know if I can watch Ashes as I am such a huge Sam / John Simm fangirl. I do love Gene's character too so hopefully if his sarcastic retorts remain I may still wtch Ashes.

Torchwood - check, Series 2 is a world better than one and dwayne dibley!owen ruled. That hair! It looked so neat his mum could have done it. And Martha! She's bloody brilliant.

TIB - check, haven't been on in eons and I used to spend 2hrs+ a day on there. My girls are sadly neglected. I too may prune the numbers so I just have KBs and BLs.

It's lovely to see you so happy and positive. *hugs*
I'm glad someone else shares the Torchwood love, my parents watch it with me but are always down on it. :( Lol at you squealing for Martha. I squealed at Owen and Tosh kissing and my parents LAUGHED at me! Meanies!

You MUST watch LOM. I command you! Well, not really... but I highly recommend it!

I'm sad you had a rubbish boss :( I sometimes wonder how these people get into positions when they are incompetent/horrible. You hear a lot about how awful kids are nowadays in schools, but nothing about the fact that staff are on the whole, down on the job. Like, why become a teacher when you hate kids? And why the hell are you trying to bring me down with you? I have been told on various occasions that I am "too happy" "too nice to the children"(because of the course the effective way to get them to learn is to be an ogre and shout at them all the time?!) and that liking the job will "soon wear off". I smile politely, whilst silently seething.
I didn't know that you could be a supply TA! That sounds really interesting... I'm not sure I'd like supply though. My step-dad was a supply teacher for a few years and has terrible tales - mind you he was a high school teacher, which is somewhat different.

I'm like you, I have to watch something from the start, and if I miss the first episode I can't watch it. This is why I never saw Doctor Who season one or Life on Mars the first time round. If you get a chance, watch LOM! (I think I may be evangelizing about this a bit too much!) They are making a US version, I so can't see how that would work but it'll be interesting finding out!
I love that you love lots of things I do Bea. In real life no-one I know likes LOM or Torchwood and look at me weird if I mention Doctor Who* and they don't even see anything special about Harry Potter! *gasp* Seriously, I'm greatly lacking in geeky friends.

I totally didn't like A2A in the first episode. I had only finished watching LOM the weekend before and was still feeling all emotional from it... and instantly hated Alex. She's very... brash? where Sam was subtle and understated. She is growing on me though!

It seems a lot of people I know who have been into Blythes and dolls for a while are tiring of them - I wonder why? I think for me it honestly is to do with it becoming a "scene", I just can't keep up and when it becomes about showing how cool/rich you are I can't be bothered. Maybe that's just me though. I still love the Blythes themselves though!

*I have no idea if you like Doctor Who, I'm just presuming cos of Torchwood but I suppose you could like TW and not DW!!
You are my geeky homegirl ;) *hugs*

I love Doctor Who. I find David a tad annoying and shout-y at times but I do like Ten. I thought Chris did a fab job as Nine and could of watched another season of him (although without Rose, I do hate her with a passion and I fear I will not like her episodes when she comes back *shudder*).

I adore Classic Who too (I started watching when Peter Davidson was The Doctor) but love Tom Baker's Doctor too and Romana. *rambles*

My John Simm love applies to him as the Master too, I wish they'd bring him back in that reincarnation. He was campily manically perfect.

Yeah, I saw a brief bit of A2A episode two on iPlayer (the Delorean!) and took an instant dislike to Alex as well, she seems too blasé about the whole thing - the Test Card Girl owns that stupid clown though.

Sorry people *rolls up sleeves* Harry Potter is important godammit! Anyone who disagrees will get detention with out favourite black hearted potions master *glee*.

Yep I love Blythe and the whole kawaii-ness of her and everything about her world but you get the feeling that a lot of TIBers are just in a massive competition and care nothing about the actual dolls. *hugs KBs tight*
Aw I love David...I never watched Chris' season until after I'd started watched it with David! I'm afraid I don't remember much about pre-1989 Who (I know I never missed it, but being born in 1982 I remember very little of it!) Technically, Eight is my first proper Doctor <3 I fell in love with him, I was fourteen and he was one of my teenage crushes *swoon* I really want to watch ALL the old Who (that still exists anyway) but I'm too poor to start investing in the DVDs right now - cos I know once I started I wouldn't be able to stop (I'm a MAJOR completist!)
Hah, a major completist - that sounds familiar!

I finished watching (finally) the rest of LOM last night. I still feel quite emotional. I just adore Sam. I think I'll get the DVDs as I the copy I recorded off BBC4 wasn't perfect.

Yeah being very old (read born in Nov 1973) I had Five as my first proper Doctor (I just about remember the end of Four but I lived abroad until the late 70s / early 80s). I thought Peter Davidson was scrummy. Eight was also very fanciable, it's a pity he never did proper Who on the telly only the awful TV movie. But there are heaps of Eight books and audio.

I have all of Four and Five eps downloaded (plus the Five Doctors ep) if you want a DVD in the post... *nudge wink*

[this is good]
OMG I totally missed this comment... I would so love Five's episodes - I've got a bit of a crush on Peter Davison but have never seen him 'in action' as the Doctor (except Time Crash of course!) and would LOVE to see them... PM me if it's still possible!
